I see you are bold and beautiful,
Kind, selfless and dutiful.
But to chase your dreams when will you be ready?
Find your voice, Lady!
Be kind to yourself too,
When was the last time you drew?
To think about yourself isn’t crazy,
Find your voice, Lady!
Years will come and go,
Of what you are capable now is the time to show.
Let go of can I and maybe,
Find your voice, Lady!
It is liberating to be comfortable in your own skin,
YOU aren’t being defined by dark, light, fat or thin.
I and you may sound crazy,
But we need to find our voice, Lady.

wow! The imperative sings in my heart. I am sharing your poem with facebook friends.
It is liberating to find one’s voice. From that moment, there is no turning back. So well said.
I hear you!
That line ‘Find your voice’ says it all. I think all women need to find their own voice because their voice is as important as that of a man if not more 🙂
It’s definitely liberating to find that ‘own voice’. The refrain works magic here.
Finding our voice; standing up for ourselves and the things we love; and not giving in to societal constructs of beauty is everything!
Very rightly pointed, one need to speak up. In all the chores, lady forgets to voice her opinions. Great reminder!

Love the confidence in this! Yes, we need to find and hold onto our voice
This poem spoke to me, Ramya. Finding one’s voice is a challenging and remarkable journey. Now is the time to show, to let go of those doubts and find the voice that liberates. Truly profound!
In finding ones inner voice the key aspect is accepting oneself.. whatever it may be like. DOnt you think?
This is a very powerful poem Ramya talks about the reality of many women, we need to speak up and bring about a change.
In a culture where women are taught to keep our voice low, and hold on to our opinions till asked, we definitely need to find our own voice, distinctly and clearly.
Good way of liberating oneself from clichés and innuendos.love this poem.
