My dear younger self,
I still love talking to myself
I promise I won’t change.
I am still struggling with saying no,
That’s bad, I know.
I promise I will learn.
Straightforward and honest I still am,
The world a tiger and me the lamb.
I promise I will be more smart.
Me frankness leads me into troubles,
As easily as breaking the bubbles.
I promise I will learn to be tactful.
I love myself more than before,
My faults have made me love me more.
I promise to go gentle on me.
I promise to expect less,
And work more.
I promise I will be modest
But not submissive.
I promise to be the best of me.
And if we ever meet actions you can see.
Writing this post for Day 7 of Barathon.

Loving oneself is the most vital of all promises. Being straightforward and honest is what makes you special. Cherish these qualities. I am not a novice at this and am still a work-in-progress but I can suggest you to cease creating the thoughts of being a lamb while the world a tiger waiting to pounce on you. Visualize yourself, instead, as a tigress who is fierce-some when it comes to her internal strengths. The world sees us as we feel for ourselves.
Congratulations for completing the Barathon 🙂
I will keep that in mind Anamika. Thank you so much. 🙂

That is such a thoughtful and meaningful poem Ramya. And I could relate to it so much! Very well penned.
I wrote an open letter to my 16-year old self and it felt liberating after writing one. You can read it here :
